A practice with Karen
A short, steady sit for the middle of a loud day.
Read the script slowly, in your own time — or record it in your voice and it will play here.

01You have a few minutes. That is enough. Sit where you are.
02Place one hand in the other, in your lap. Let them be warm together.
03Take one breath that is entirely for you.
04The day has been loud. We are not going to make it quiet. We are going to find the part of you that has stayed still through all of it.
05Follow three breaths all the way in and all the way out, without improving them.
06Now notice that the noise did not stop, and something in you steadied anyway. That is the whole thing.
07Two more breaths. Then let your hands part, and go back in — a little slower than you came out.
